Fibromyalgia In Men
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had fibro for a long time and was wondering if anyone has children showing symptoms, especially son's. My son is 26 and I always remember him.complaining about his back at 14-16 yrs old. I remember blaming video game. Then his knees would hurt. Most recently it's his wrists- minor work causes them to flare. I am really starting to see myself in him and it's scaring the crap out of me

When in his early teens, he wouldn’t go to fairs and such because of his back, has always had the tinnitus , sleep issues( uses cpap) . Had compression syndrome in high school during Cross country season and had to have both legs operated on in his senior year. He had shoulder surgery twice, wrists always hurting- they say just tendinitis, just beginning with migraines. He’s on meds for ADHD now but never had any issues with that during school years. As a parent , I feel entirely helpless because I am all too aware of the path that lies ahead . Prayer has seen me through countless pain filled sleepless nights but unfortunately he doesn’t hand it over to God just yet

I am wondering if your son may have a form of brittle bone disease in addition to fibromyalgia and possible PTSD @ ColleenJohnson.

I have a 26 year old son who has serious issues since childhood as well. He is following the same path I did but has more serious mental issues as well. His bones tend to break easily and he hurts all the time. He has the typical drenching night sweats, sleeps more than normal but has insomnia as well. He suffers from acute anxiety and depression. The list goes on and on. I believe he has fibromyalgia . My father has the same symptoms. Both of them think it is a affliction only women have and don't take me seriously.

Fibro is something that cannot be explained or described because of so many symptoms that come with it . I think about all of u as I know the suffering. I am so sorry we are going thru it .
