Does Anyone Has A Working Medication Or Therapy That Doesn't Hurt Your Brain?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello fellows, this is my first question here! I'm a med student, been diagnosed last year with fibro, at 25, had been suffering this since I was 13... (Yes, growing pains excuse by pediatricians, then the stage "you are to young, you can't feel that much pain, it's all in ur head", then ofc the "need to see a psychiatrist" and such)
Well now I'm currently on Lyrica, once a day, but as many of you might know or not, there are studies that show damage to the hippocampus, and gray matter in a… read more

I thought that your English is perfect.I ran into the same thing growing up.I was in so much pain, in my early teens and was told the same thing. That I was too young to be in that much pain. They thought that I was just wanting meds or I needed a psychiatrist.I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy 25 yrs.ago and fibromyalgia 10 yrs.ago then arthritis 5 yrs.ago.Unfortunately fibromyalgia causes brain fog and there isn't any medication for that.At least not that my specialist has found.I wish that you and I and others could find the answer!!! Good luck with your studies, and l think that your English is great!!!

I couldn’t find anything working for fibromyalgia other than avoiding medication and “calming my nerves” with meditation, progressive muscle relaxation, massage, light exercise, warm bath, kinesiology tape use for muscle pain and tension, social support, anything which calms you.
As of now I don’t know any medication working for fibromyalgia without “touching your brain “. As a med student you should have access to the latest scientific research on fibromyalgia. Unfortunately not much progress on the field.

If I were you I'd try CBD. If it's legal and you can get it. Or medical cannabis. again if it's legal. Lyrica affected my thinking greatly! I'm on Cymbalta now, it's not as bad, to me. But it doesn't help it. Heating pads always help ease the pain some. I wish I could be more help. Good luck with your schooling!
