I suffered with restless leg syndrome from a very early age it plagued my childhood, used to get it really bad, i stilll get it now but meds help it most of the time, as a child and as a teenager i would sit and cry as it was so uncomfortable ,just wondered if any one else had ot as a child
I have since I was 14. I can't believe that I used to play basketball. I put pillows under my legs when sleeping.
Hello I tried Compression stockings and it did help me.
I did suffer as a child with restless leg, it was worse when tired, or at least I noticed it more. Aching legs while active or resting was generally seen as growing pains. Sadly, it still is and both my children suffer the symptoms and at times my youngest is inconsolable with the pain and mostly at rest. The thing that concerns me greatly is that he also has the joint anomalies that I had. These are so prominent he has been described by Elhor Danlos sufferers as a young zebra. My daughter suffers considerably with her legs and ankles. She is in a great deal of pain active and at rest, my fear is that ‘pushing through’ may well be impacting on damage not being seen, diagnosed or dealt with. How does one get a “family appointment” at our GP’s in order to try and determine what is going on. I don’t want either of my kids ending up where I am at if I can absolutely help it.
I hope these things noticed by us all now, go in some way, towards helping with valuable research on fibromyalgia and a possible cure. Both for us and any possible suffering in the future. Earlier diagnosis is afterall something we are told to take seriously with disease.
I did, although the doctor said it was just growing pains. The pain used to wake me up at night and all I could do was cry as my mom would rub & massage my legs. It was terrible. Nowadays the pain will keep me up if I haven’t cut back on the caffeine & sugar or if I forget to use my essential oils (my body doesn’t react well to the medication).
Always have been a fidget
