Can't See A Rheumatologist Because Labs Are Good
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Got a referral from ortho doctor to see a rheumatologist. Had to have Rheumatoid Factor labs first before appointment could be set up. My labs were perfect, so not I don't meet "their criteria" to see a rheumatologist. What now? I've had the symptoms for two years but would like a diagnosis and treatment. Anyone have this issue?

Also, how to I search on questions I've asked on this site? I get notifications that someone has replied to my question, but nothing is there when I look. Thanks… read more

Also, in the upper left corner is your profile pic. It will show a number with answers to questions or responses you or the site have received. Click on those numbers and the menus will drop down. Click on the person who responded and it will take you back to your question/post and that person’s response. If there are many, don’t forget to click “view previous responses” above response, below the post/question.

I’m pretty sure I saw a neurologist and cardiologist my dr sent referrals to see them. It was a long time ago so I hope I’m right. but I saw them even though my blood work was fine. I don’t know what your symptoms are but for me these Assessments and tests needed to be ruled out before they could move on . I’m not too sure but you could ask your dr ? Sending you luck

I checked further and I went to a Rheumatologist also. My Dr sent a referral. I am hoping you can find some answers and your dr does end up sending a referral for you to a Rheumatologist. Sending wishes. I don’t know the answer to your other question actually I am wondering the same?

Wow. How disappointing. I had to research for rheumatologists who would treat without rheumatoid factor. My primary care found one. I was turned away from one rated highly by an organization that present on this site as a fibro doc. NOT a fibro doc. A doc who eliminates all other possible causes of pain then dismisses from practice. Hang in. Keep looking.
