Endo Pain
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

So this isnt directly related to Fibro, but i know alot of us have many diagnoses.

Those of you with endometriosis... have any of you taken Orilissa or Lupron Depot?

My doctors wants me to take one of these which he says will essentially mimic menopause, and stop the Endo growth, if that’s what I really have. (We aren’t doing the surgery to diagnose because he says about 75% of the times it’s microscopic and doesn’t show up, so either way we would end up at these same treatment options)

Hi Brianna, I had Endometriosis in my 20’s. I am now 62. In the beginning I was given Provera by my gynaecologist. It was to stop my monthly cycle for 6 months at a time to see if that would stop the disease from progressing or at least improve the symptoms I was experiencing. Ask lots of questions and for me personally I had the surgery and it was confirmed that I had endometriosis ...
Wishing you all that is good

I had to have surgery at 23 yrs old because mine was so severe and then I did 2 Lupron treatments, used Seasonique, now I take Depo (14 yrs since surgery). The lupron took care of any of the endometriosis that he wasn't able to remove. I've not had any endometrial pain since. I would recommend lupron.

I had eendometriosis, had surgery and they were only able to remove 20% of it. I was 6 months away from getting married. We tried to have a baby but ended up going to fertility. My levels were so low, except for one time but that plunkered out. I was told I had only a 1-2% chance of conceiving. I was already peri-menopausal . I couldn't stand the pain anymore. Co-workers would actually call my boss because I looked ad ill as I felt. She would send me home. She referred me to her OBGYN who put me on Depro provera iinjections every 3 months until I reached menopause age. The Drepro took care of the pain and I've been off of it for 2 years now.

Due to Endometriosis I had my complete hysterectomy at 27 yrs of age and was glad I did. I felt healthy again and was free from the painful symptoms. We were blessed with two beautiful daughters prior to the surgery and I was told I would not have any more and really needed this surgery. I was on Premarin for years that helped as well

I finally had a total hysterectomy at age 48 for endometriosis. It was the best thing I had done for myself in a long time.
I hear the stories about doctors wanting to do too much surgery. It really helped me. Had to take estrogen. Then had to stop it when I got breast cancer. The lump was already there before I began estrogen. The hot flashes were hard, but I eventually got over them. My breast cancer has been in remission many years and I'm still glad I had the hysterectomy.
