A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Recently I’ve been suffering from bad pain in my hands and wrists, I’m negative for arthritis. The pain has led to me being overly cautious with my hands but still my skin is breaking very easily. My skin does not look or feel dry but seems to have lots of cuts and I have no idea where they came from. The cuts give me a really intense burning pain which makes it difficult to type this. YES!!! I was told my thin skin was due to the fact that I had a total hysterectomy 7 years ago and the lack of estrogen causes this.. I don't believe that because it started a few years before that. I was told to take lots of vitamin C and it has helped a bit but not much. I can not wear any type of flip flops regardless of how comfy they are because the skin in between the toes will be ripped up and bleeding within an hour....I learned that one the hard way on vacation. New shoes cause blisters and cuts unless I wear thick socks.

Have you seen a dermatologist?

Can you use aloe vera ? Straight from the aloe plant or pure aloe gel. Very healing if you can use it and not allergic.
Yeah a good dermo would be a good thing.

Is it Ictheosis??. That's a breaking of thin skin. My cousin suffered with it badly as s child he had to be bandaged to stop infection getting into the cuts

Humid heat will turn the soles of my feet into very large blisters if I overheat.
I can’t wear leather sneaks.
