Muscle Soreness After Exercise
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

When I say “exercise,” I mean 20 pushups and a few standing calf raises at my kitchen counter. My muscles feel like I had a 1 hour intense personal training session with an NFL coach. Is this normal? I do not exercise regularly but I am not carrying extra weight. I just did not expect to feel so crappy. I mean, my inner thighs near my groine hurt to the slightest touch and I did not thigh exercises. I also feel incredibly fatigued. Didnt even want to wash my hair this AM. Anyone experience this… read more

Walking gives me pain in my upper legs, groin and vagina. It’s similar to severe period pain. I have had a hysterectomy so that shouldn’t happen and it feels like I have run a marathon geez can’t win 😐

If you over do it you’re only defeating the purpose of exercising .
I love yoga. There’s all kinds of it. Some for loosening up. , weight lose, strengthening and others.
I have started walking. I made small goals and challenges.
Slowly work your way up. Don’t get frustrated if you never do that many push-ups . The key to exercising with fibromyalgia start with low and back exercises and set reasonable goals. If you start feeling pain stop . Next day do fewer.
Exercise can become part of are lives again as long as we don’t try to overdo.
Good luck with introducing a healthy exercise program into your daily schedule

I try to walk my dog every other day. Then I have to lay down for hours from the pain in my groin and legs. Especially my calves

I am so sorry to read many of you are like me and have become human barometers, but so glad to know I am not imagining this. When I e ok my Drs they just look at me as well as family and friends. I did have a neurologist who did not believe in fibromyalgia and 2 years later he told me we responded to barometric pressure changes like his arthritis patients. They flared 2 days before a system came in and 2 days after. He said he thought it might be some fare form of arthritis of the muscles that has not been discovered yet. I rarely watch weather forecasts because I can tell you when a big system is coming from Arkansas, another state away. Also if there is more than a 20 degree change in temperature between morning and daytime, I flare. Spring and fall are the worst for me.
