So I have fired my doctor, and I am seeing a neurologist and an internal med in the next week to try and sort out some options. What medicines have helped you all the most? And with what symptoms did these medications help with? I would like to have a game plan of my own so I'm not oblivious when I go in. Thank you all for your help.

Be cautious as you hear from us. It can be mind blowing if we come at you with horror stories overload. Or if we are over zealous because what we are currently taking is great. Our body chemistry is all different and so is yours. Be open minded but willing to hear your doctors opinions also. I wish you the best with your new Dr

The drug that has helped me the most is Lyrica. It helps with sleep issues whether insomnia or pain driven. I can't take Gabapentine but I know of others it has helped. Both Lyrica & Gabapentine both work really well on pain. And muscle relaxers are a Godsend! Muscle relaxers work well on muscle spasms & pain. I suggest the muscle relaxer I'm on...Baclofen. But there are other muscle relaxers like Flexiril & Robaxin. Oh and Lyrica is a good mood booster because it gives you a Serotonin elevation. It works really well with nerve pain. Message me if you have any questions.

Approved medications for Fibromyalgia are Lyrica, Cymbalta and Savella. Medications work differently for everyone. Lyrica doesn''t work for me. I take my Cymbalta 60 mg with a muscle relaxant Tizanidine, Vitamin D and magnesium at night before I sleep. Magnesium is also a sleep booster. They all help relieves the muscle spasms and helps me to sleep thru the night. My doctor always says that people with fibromyalgia are deficient in Vitamin D and magnesium. So have your Vitamin D and magnesium levels checked. By the way, Happy February Birthday.
