Hello
I'm new here. I went through some trauma of losing my husband a year ago and since then been dealing with anxiety and pain. My doc feels I may have Fibromyalgia . I come and go with pain only on the upper half of my body, mostly. Now I'm having shooting pains in my breasts and sometimes burning sensation. Also pain in the center of my chest and my sides. Does anyone else have this? Especially women with the breast? I'm going to my gyno for another breast exam to be safe. I do have cysts… read more
I am sorry for the loss of your spouse. I do have pain in my breasts also. I am caffeine free except 1 coffee in am. But sometimes it’s stabbing. And sometimes dull and achy. And when it’s over my heart it scares me. But just like fibro pain anywhere.-it eventually shifts somewhere else. Try not to worry.
I have been told by my physio we breathe very shallow and because it is hard to exercise we don't expand our lungs fully she suggested deep breathing exercises to un knot the intercostal muscles if relaxation is not your bag breathing for singing is good teaches breathing from the stomach to expand the lungs.
Very sorry about your husband! Emotional pain often translate to physical pain.
I do have similar symptoms to yours. Both breasts, often, shooting pain, burning pain, steady aching pain, pressure sensitivity (if I lay on my stomach sometimes), armpit area ache. These sensations are on and off. Also have cysts, nodules, fibrocystic breast. Very uncomfortable. Cannot stand bras anymore. It seems that even the slightest pressure from the bra provokes pain. Feels like my muscles tightens up in response.
I have had these pains for about 6-7 years now. Mammogram, ultrasound shows no problems.
I hope you feel better soon. Maybe ibuprofen help with some of the pain.
I'm not sure if what you experience is a fibromyalgia problem. I know I am in early menopause & I have very sore breasts. I'm not sure if this is what is causing your problem.
I'm sorry for your loss. There is something called costochondritis that is an inflammation of the chest wall that causes severe pain in the whole upper body for me. It seems to be a symptom of fibro because many of us on here have had it. Ibuprofen and ice packs is about all you can do to ease the pain. Good luck with a diagnosis. I hope you start feeling better. Hugs
