A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm looking for safe foods which won't aggravate symptoms of Fibro, GERD, diabetes and IBS. I'm having a hard time eating without getting super bloated, puffy feeling and pain all over (muscles and joints) along with fatigue. I'm looking for easy and safe things to eat that won't cost too much either. THANK YOU!

Try a keto or Atkins type diet .
No carbs. It does reduce inflammation.
It's not just gluten that bothers us but the wheat also. No bread.
For breakfast I eat cottage cheese with blueberry and walnuts on top.
A veggie omelet with no cheese is good. No cereals or toast.
Try a smooth with Berry's and plain Greek yogurt and ice and spinach and some stevia for sweetener if you need it.
For lunch salad with some kind of meat or eggs on it. No dairy oil and vinegar dressing. No dressings with soy in them. Stay away from processed meats too.
Dinner. Veggies but not corn. With a good meat option. Chicken or fish or pork.
Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
I feel better on a keto diet.
Hope this wasn't over load.
Good luck changing the way you eat is important.

I did an elimination diet in the first years I was dx'd. In the end of that I had no food issues, BUT if I ate meals like I had normally, my body reacted terribly!

So I just made all sorts of changes. If it worked then I kept it. One thing that helped was going for a walk (short) after eating. I also rarely eat what normal people call a meal. I eat a thing, then wait a while, and eat another. I try to have a bit of a plan for each "meal" so I get a variety of nutrients.

Now many years later, I have some more normal times and some FM times in what I eat. I do think that I feel better when I eat fresh produce, lean meats, fish, eggs, and whole grains. But pizza is my desert island food, and luckily if I don't eat too much at once, my home made pizza doesn't bother me!

I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, greens, meat, fish, eggs, nuts, seeds, quinoa dishes, oatmeal, Instead of milk we use almond milk and rice milk. If you go gluten free, you’ll need to buy gluten free flour for baking. You can buy lots of gluten free products (bread, pasta, cookies, desserts, muffins, crackers) but they are pricier than regular products. I just don’t eat these things much any more.
Good luck with it all! It’s quite a change but your system should feel better for it.
Hugs 🦋😊

You might have to leave the lentils out and celery if it effects your ibs ect but it will still be nice without them. The websites good anyway as you can search for things like glutton free and it tells you how easy a recipe will be

I had a food panel test (blood work) this is what I found out.. Food allergies are different for each person.. it takes 3 days for food to pass thru our systems & up to 3 weeks before our bodies fully acknowledge the difference.. I'm not gluten intolerant but I am allergic to wheat, rye, barley, red meat, dairy, egg yolks, coffee, chocolate, & so much more
