I've been doing some light research regarding those who have lived near or on military bases and in or near industrial areas. The reason being is that out of all the people I grew up with in my neighbourhood, 4 of us have Fibromyalgia/CFS, several have passed of or currently have cancer and some have other issues with autoimmune illnesses and so on. We all grew up in or next door to an air force base. Just curious. Thank you.

Good question. I have been around military intallations all of my life, as a child and an adult.
I also was raised on military bases Air Force bases and I also joined the Air Force when I graduated high school
My sister and I lived on a base.. she is a breast cancer survivor and I have FM (and three other chronic diseases).
I was on a military base (Fairbanks) when I was young, but was also exposed to black mold. I feel that eventually they will classify fibromyalgia as an auto-immune condition. Triggered by a toxin.
Interesting thought.
