Am I Really In Pain? Or Just Weak?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I used to be very "pain tolerant" but my mom says now i am more pathetic in dealing with it. I feel like a liar as its not as bad as it could be. Im not always in pain but I do much and I get sore and weak in the legs. I want answers but feel too pathetic to really complain.

Omg! ANYONE and I mean ANYONE that calls you pathetic is ignorant and needs to be educated. There is literature as well as speaking with a medical professional to learn!
Dear, explain this weakness to your Dr... I have dealt with this since 1997, and the leg weakness is as real as rain... something I was told to do is take a magnesium supplement daily... talk to your Dr before starting..
~Blessings ❤️... I will pray for you. Don’t beat yourself up or believe others negativity!

I have questioned myself about being weaker as I've aged, but honestly, it is down to the condition, I bruise easy, from what I don't know. Its not being pathetic being in constant pain. Big hugs. X

It is common for those who have been in pain a lot in the past to become more sensitive to it. It's as if our nerves are already conditioned to feel pain so they are really good at it. The reality is most of us continue to do things even through the pain so our tolerance is actually pretty high but we do feel it. It is real.

Weakness can come from not using the muscles due to the pain. I find that if I walk short walks even if I'm in pain I do become less weak. You are not alone. :)

Hi FinObig
No you're not Pathetic. The pain I found pulls you down slowly, further down day by day, week by week & so on. A few years back I was in a mess with my pain ( the pain had beat me I thought ). Now I like to think I've beat the pain, okay they're is bad & good days.
Pain is difficult for other people to understand for they can not see it ( a Invisible Disability ), but boy can we feel it. My mum suffered with pain for about 20 years before I started with it, so I had advice about my condition & she pushed me to tell the doctors to find out what was going on with me in the beginning of my conditions. Chin up, you can learn to live with it with the right help
My legs go very weak extremely quickly if or when I walk even with support from my crutch, I have to sit down to take a shower due to my legs going weak quick, I can push through standing in a shower but then I need to lay on my bed for about 1 hour to recuperate my self
