I have tried tramadol, Lyrica and Cymbalta among other non-narcotics. None of them work, but my doctors, not even pain management, will allow me to try anything stronger. I'm at wits end, the pain is so bad, no one understands and all I hear from my husband is "I hurt every day, but I still get up and go" I feel as if he just thinks I'm week minded...
i dont know where the majority of your pain is, but i suggest getting a TENS unit, and also trying ThermaCare Heat Wraps. its like those hot hands hand warmers that you shake to activate, except these activate when opened. and you can stick them on to your body. so you can wear them all day under your clothes and have like a portable heating pad. thats all ive found that helps me besides pain meds.
a morphine patch is the only thing that keeps me from killing myself. I am in so much pain and never get a break. It has been with my since my diagnosis 12 years ago. Legs ache all day, feel like I have 3rd degree burns all over my skin, feet burn all the time. I am starting to get so depressed with this constant pain.
Gabapentin does not help, I've tried it.
I think conventional pain meds may not be the answer. Because some of the pain is electrical/ nervous system related, anti seizure type meds may be effective. My doctor suggested this to me but I refused. However, after giving it some thought I am going to try gabapentin as the Omega 3’s/ magnesium/ tramadol therapy I was using is no longer effective.
I hear that same thing from my son and husband. I get viodin but they have cut me down alot. Its getting really hard for people who are in pain to get them. I hope you find someone who'll help you
