Joint Pain / Redness
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

The pain starts in my joints. Then you can see the redness. All my bloodwork is normal for inflammation or arthritis. Anywone experience this? Joints hurt so bad I can hardly walk.

I get that all the time! It's mostly in my knees especially on days that I have been walking or on my feet a lot. I have also had it on my shoulders, ankles, and feet. I have also been tested for arthritis and lupus and have come up negative. I think it may just be a "over use" thing with fibro.

The redness is most unusual. Not related to Lupus?

I have widespread inflammation and edema but I haven’t noticed any redness. In the mornings I can barely get out of bed and it takes me awhile before I can walk; yet any time I stay stationary for any period of time I become painfully stiff again. It makes it difficult having a desk job or after driving/riding in a car for any length of time. I’m on anti-inflammatories and I would say they do not help until I skip taking them and realize how much worse I am without them. I tried Lyrica but I put on a lot of weight so I stopped taking it.

I have several large herniations from my cervical to my lumbar spine and my hips are a mess, one has already been replaced so it’s hard to determine what pain is related to my injuries and what is as a result of my fibromyalgia.

This pain takes the enjoyment out of everything!
