I went gluten-free dairy free and essentially all "processed foods free" and felt sooooo much better. I still have minor symptoms here and there but have felt a world of difference. I haven't gone full AIP but wondered if anyone has and felt long term success?
Once again, I have not officially been diagnosed with Fibro But all my neuro. test &a bloodwork is coming back normal and all of my symptoms line up with much of what I have read on this board.
Hi, I recently was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after a string of tests that all came back normal. I went on the AIP diet before being diagnosed because I suspected I had an autoimmune disease. When I went on the diet I was in a TON of pain, but then about 10 days after I couldn't believe it-- my pain was drastically decreased. I've been on it for about 3.5 months now. Don't get me wrong, I still have pain, but it's nowhere near as severe as it was before I switched my eating habits! I do find if I have too much sugary (fruit) or starchy foods I get more low back pain too.
The auto immune protocol diet.
Yes, although it is very challenging, especially if you ever eat in restaurants or other people's homes. I do eat eggs and tomatoes now, after determining I did not seem to react to them, but otherwise, I try to keep to the protocol. My motivation for trying it was colitis and it definitely helps with that; as an aside, I do notice some improvement with fibromyalgia, although I don't think diet alone would ever be enough for my fibromyalgia symptoms.

I have eliminated wheats however, I am allergic to bakers yeast so am not to have any breads but sometimes I slip and eat it. One of those I just need it.
