I get overwhelmed myself. I wonder, "am I feeling this way because I have fibro and want to get checked out? " then I say "oh that's probably just a symptom because I ha e fibro! " Please share your experiences
I had numbness but now diagnosed needing vitaminB12. Best get it checked out blood test was taken to find out mine😀x
I'm dealing with that right now. I have this weird pain in my leg and I have a history of blood clots but I keep saying it's just the FIBRO.
@A MyFibroTeam Member,
I have learned to do my research. When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia I started reading about it and the many medical issues that can be contributed to it. I had to learn because some medical professionals know very little about fibro and its numerous symptoms.
Listen to your body and trust your instincts because it will let you know when you should probably make a doctors appointment.
I started having a burning pain when I walk in one of my calf muscles. I didn't think it had anything to do with fibromyalgia but new something was wrong. Turned out I have a blocked artery.
Trust Yourself😊
Thanks @A MyFibroTeam Member turns out it is a really bruised muscle
I've joked with doctors about me not taking the symptoms of a heart attack seriously because I'd think it was "just fibro".
It's so difficult to trust our instincts when things are wacky. But....we know our bodies, our symptoms, our responses, and ourselves. If something is out of my "normal", I make an appointment just to be safe. I've also learned to stand up for myself and insist on certain tests or treatments.
This doesn't mean that I don't spend time worrying about the seriousness of something. I do a lot of that before finally making the appointment or, if things are way out of my normal, I'll head to the emergency department. It takes a lot to get me to go there though. But, I would rather have a "it's just fibro" and go home than something else.
If I've gone through my coping skills, tricks, etc and slept on it (Haha sleep as if that's easy to do when you're worried sick!) and I feel worse that's when I know it's time to see my doctor.
