Dietary Changes For Fibro?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just wondering if there are any studies that anyone knows about regarding dietary measures for fibro? Or has anyone had advice from pain docs regarding diet? Really want to stick to objective evidence but understand there isn't much haha. Low carb/sugar helps me a lot, but wanting to know what else to cut out or add in. Thanks! Xx

Gluten and dairy are the worst for my pain. Sugar also makes inflammation worse.
One doctor told me about following a high protein diet. My problem is that I am almost vegetarian, and I only eat fish or chicken a couple of days per week.

I was put on a gluten/dairy free diet.most people do just the gluten free but I was also sensitive to dairy.have ibs and celiac tendencies due to the fibro so this diet helps.also helped with some of the pain.

I avoid caffeine, sugar, and dairy with high lactose levels. That being said, I don't completely cut it out. I have a history of an eating disorder, so eliminating complete food groups triggers a negative response in me. There are some foods I never eat though, whole milk, soda, juice, fast foods (mcdonalds, etc). I find that if I eat small portions and everything in moderation, my fibro responds well.

Yes it does have a mind of it's own,but you can't give up trying. I know things don't work all of the time but some of the time is better then nothing.and some things do work all of the time. I know it's frustrating,it's ok to stop trying on some days for your own piece of mind.we all understand that.but Don't make it all of the time and give up the fight.don't let it control everything all of the time.you can do this.

I honestly don’t think it matters!! This illness doesn’t care about anything, how much sleep we get, what we eat, if we exercise, if we do nothing, if we do too much, it will hit us as hard as it wants whenever it wants!! I’m so sick of dealing with this pain right now!! Sorry about being negative but I’ve been in too much pain for too long with this damn weather, I guess that’s why? Who knows, it has a mind of its own!!!
