What Type Of Pain Pill Is Best?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have taken Celexa, Gabapentin, and Nortriptyline. So far NOTHING is working, most days its hard to even get out of bed to even use the bathroom what is somthing that works and something that also works for like breakthrough pain (like norco) I've never really used any perscription pain meds like that other than for surgerys. If anyone could help that would be amazing! Thank you and gentle hugs for everyone!

I also am on oxycodone and it is the only thing that works for me!! I have tried so many things over the last fourteen years, even been on the fentanyl patch which I was on a very strong dose of that, but had no problems getting off of it cause I am very strong when it comes to using stuff I don’t think are helping! Like someone else said, if you are in pain, the medication does not really give you a high cause it goes straight to your pain! You only get a high if you have no pain because then it goes straight to your head! I am also on anti-depressants of course cause I mentally can not handle what this illness has done to my life!! To go from a very active, high energy person to someone that is in pain everyday and sometimes can’t even get out of bed, is way to much for me to accept! Thank god I have the best doctor in the world and he’s willing to try anything I might think will help within reason of course! I don’t know what I’ll do when he retires, which hopefully won’t be for a while yet, because I hear all these horror stories of doctors that aren’t willing to help you guys, and it scares the hell out of me! I absolutely hate the fact that these idiots out there abusing opioids are making it so tough for us ones that need it to live, to get prescriptions for it! I think I’ll lose it if they ever stop using oxys! I can pretty much tell you what time of day it is by how my body is aching because I can tell when they are starting to wear off, except on really bad days! Anyway, here I go again writing a book but I get so caught up when it comes to pain meds and I don’t know how people survive without something! I would be suicidal I’m sure because I couldn’t live with the height of my pain, even on a good day! I hope nobody takes offence to that, I’m just saying how bad my pain is and I have said it before, fibro progresses as time goes by! Just when you think it can’t get any worse, voila, there is a new part of your body in throbbing pain! Good luck to everyone whatever you use or do and hopefully one day soon they will find a cure!!!

Before i get out of bed i turn my heated mattress pad onto high and t take two extra-strength Tylenol and two 100 mg caffeine tablets and i lay in bed for anywhere from 30-60 min or until i feel i can get up and go. If i have to go somewhere i put this time ahead of the usual alarm clock time. ♥️🎶🇨🇦

That's crazy to say the least. I recently had a torodol shot in one hip. It only lasted overnight

I have had fibro for 30 years so i have tried most meds for fibro pain. I started taking 5mg oxycodone about 15 years ago. I went up to 10mg about 7 years ago. I just resently went up to 15mg because of severe pain from a charlie horse that lasted over a week. I also take 3 flexerils a day and ibuprofen 600mg. I have been very lucky that they still work for me 15 years later. So not everyone will become immune to pain meds. My increase probably would not have happened if my back didn't end up with 3 herniated and 2 buldging discs. We are all different so this may not help everyone but it helps me be able to function daily. I have never gotten high off of pain meds. If you have pain, they go to your pain. If not, it goes to yiur brain and makes you high. That is why so many people that do not have pain, take pain meds to get high. Thanks to them, we have to fight to get something to help us function most days. It really stinks. Hugs
