@Jaycee68 I took Trazadone for about 16 years to help me sleep. My fibromyalgia was keeping me up for days even though I was exhausted. Usually it helped me sleep. I was still tired when I woke up but I got much better sleep than without it. I decided to stop taking it a year or so ago. I felt I was on too many meds and I wanted to see how I'd do without it. I usually sleep okay now, but I'm still tired. At least I'm not up for days anymore without sleep.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. Have you tried melatonin? I have weened off the Trazodone, because i don't feel it helped. I've been taking about 20mg. Of melatonin about an hour before bed....of course i know everyone is different.. I really dont like meds unleas its for life supporting.

I've been on Trazadone for a couple of years. I've had no side affects. I take it to help shut the mind down otherwise it races all night long and I don't sleep. Effexor for depression

Well the only side effects I ever felt, and I have taken it for a number of years, is the sleepiness and the nausea after taking it. I found if I took more than 150 mg at a time, it made me throw up. If your just taking it for sleep you might be on a lower dose so the nausea might not be a problem.
