Do Other People Carry Around Extra Weight From I Don't Know Where?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Let me explain I an old hat at fibro .I have had it for over thirty years but over the last fifteen years ,I 've had a ten pound weight gain. I can't do anything to lose these pounds. I think the Lord just needs me to stay at this weight. My docs want me down twenty pounds but that's way too much for my body. My heart wouldn't take it literally. Anyways, I 've lost ten since my Dr s told me what to do. And I was doing good . I had some stuff come up and ended up on an anxiety med. I barely take… read more

I looked at your treatments and you don't have any drugs listed but there are a lot of drugs that make you gain weight.
Being 59, and you being close to my age I know that menopause can make it hard to lose weight. By nature as women get along in their years (lol), we put on extra fat to protect our bones. So say we have a fall, the extra fat might keep us from breaking a bone. We are also dealing with our metabolism slowing down. There is so many things working against us. Life sure isn't fair!
I've been very lucky and have been able to return back to my active lifestyle. I have found natural things to keep my pain at bay so I can exercise at the same level I was before fibro. If not, I think I would be battling the weight issue also.
I switched my diet from low glycemic to keto and my pain is pretty much zero most days. This diet is great for weight loss also.
I wish you the best! Welcome to the over 50 club! Ha!

i have the same issues with weight. I have had fibro for 30 years and on many different prescriptions over the years. I think alot of pres cause weight gain. I have lost 10 -50 lbs several times but i always seem to find them and more. I just try to eat healthy but i will not give up sweets. I have to have something to enjoy in this life. Lol. Good luck and try to move some everyday. That will keep you from gaining more at least. I do exercises lying in my bed. I remember to do them since i spend alot of time there. Lol

I walk when it's not -10 out, but it is really hard as both knees need replacement and I need back surgery as my feet get numb after about 15 minutes of standing. I don't really eat hardly anything, but I can't lose enough weight. Some of my meds don't help, either.

We can't exercise like the average person, we have to be more sedentary the average, we have to take many meds that often cause weight gain or weight retention. Plus, some people naturally gain a little more weight as they age, heredity or whatever. Sometimes you just have to learn to accept it.
