What Do You Do On Days Where All You Want To Do Is Cry?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I think ive been in a flare recently and all i want to do all day long is cry from the frustration.
its one thing to be told don't focus on it but its another thing to no be able to walk more than a couple steps with fear of falling in your own home. I just got a job and i love it so much but im scared of not being able to work...im only 18 and i dont want to give up on working so young but i can barely handle the 2-3 days a week only doing 4-5 hours each day.

I have found that the best thing to do when you feel like you want to cry... is cry. I spent too much time trying not to cry and get out of that mood.. but it really doesn't help. When you feel like crying.. just let it out.. it helps!

@A MyFibroTeam Member Lisa gave a good answer. I just want to add one more point.

I've had FM since my teens, too, and I'm now in my 50's. Some years I couldn't work and others I could. I went from part time to full time back to part time, then at home, and years later back to part time and again full time. Now I'm part time and wondering how much longer I can work. I've had to switch to different types of jobs (sitting vs standing long periods, home vs outside employment). My point is, FM is very changeable. Don't give up hope or dreams, just adapt and come up with new ones. You have a whole life ahead of you, and it won't always be as bad as it is right now.

Also, spend some time on the Q&A board on this site to learn what has helped others. :)

It does sound like youre going through a flare. We have all been there soo many times! When you start to feel down, remind yourself this is temporary and allow yourself more time to do things. Being patient with your body is key to healing and feeling well. Self care is really important, when I was young I never realised it. You can do this, you are doing this! I hope you have lots of awesome people helping and loving ya.

I agree, cry and get it over with!!! With everything we have to deal with, it's a wonder we don't cry every day!!! The pain is horrible, depression is sickening and they way Fibro has changed our life is enough to keep us in tears 24/7!!

I am sorry that you are going through so much so young. I have had fibro since i was 21 so i understand. I think you are depressed and that can make your pain worse too. I think you should talk to your doctor about a antidepressant. It takes a few weeks to a month to start working but i think it woukd stop your daily crying and help your pain. If you can keep working, it will make you keep a more normal routine which will help the fibro. I was a waitress and i really loved working but at 35 i had to go on disability. I had 2 neck surgeries and seversl other issues that made me not be able to continue working. Please go to your doctor soon. You will feel so much better once the medicine is in your system. I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there. Hugs.
