I started taking it about 3 weeks ago
it really helped at first
but now?
i actually feel like i'm getting *worse* with my muscle and body and joints aching
can this stuff make you sicker? or am i just noticing more when i'm in pain because i am actually having times of NOT being in pain?
i am newly diagnosed, so i am still trying to navigate all of this. went back to doc yesterday for bad back pain and was RXed Lyrica in addition (low dose to start).

My doctor started me on Tizanadine 4 mg about a month ago. At first I took it 3x/day plus a larger dose at night as written, but it just made me fall asleep while laying on the couch with my laptop trying to do History/Homeschooling my son. I'd just drop off while he was reading. I stopped taking the 3x/day and just take one extra at night. I sleep good... but it never did a thing to help the pain for me. Hope that helps.
Denial: Yes.. I have been in denial since 2011 when my doctor told me, "You are Disabled." I got SSDI and last year stopped all meds for one year thinking if I just eat right, this will just disappear. Its still here and I have tried many diets. I just asked for a few meds in the last 1-2 months because of the colder weather aching my bones so bad.
I just now joined my first fibro support group, here, because I finally accepted it what 6 years later... I DO have fm! I had written my doctor an email listing every symptom (*except IBS) listed as a FMS symptom BUT I thought it was some weird fluke that I'd have so many symptoms..in July...I really thought my diet would heal me. Last visit he told me to read webmd.com about FM. I did and was amazed that all my crazy symptoms were JUST FM... Every last one of them. Disappointing, but true.
So I myself just recently accepted this diagnoses as truly mine. I still pray for healing...And I just said a prayer for your healing too...
I hope you do not have FM! And its just a mistake. Best wishes, Andrea
I went through the denial phase of fibro. Though a second opinion is always good!
I tried it for 2months it did not help at all. I now use baclofen at a fairly good dose helps much better.
I love zanaflex (tizanadine) It is a muscle relaxer and a must have for me to be able to sleep. I can feel my muscles getting loose after taking it and it really helps me. I only take it at bedtime as it does make my drowsy.
I looked up the med you are taking. I don't think it is the meds making you worse but check with your doctor. If you are on several meds, make sure they don't have a interaction. If you are new to fibro, then you might be having what we call a fibro flare. It is when our symptoms get really bad for a few days to several weeks. Sometimes i feel like they last for months. Sorry for the bad news. I know that you want to deny having fibro (i do not blame you a bit). I have had it for 30 years so i wish you didn't have it. It takes time to find the right med to help you. If one is not helping, then ask your doctor to try something else. Good luck and i hope you feel better. Hugs
