Yes, I've had episodes of this for most of my life. I later struggled with shortness of breath and felt like I was gulping for air. It can feel scary. I've had many breathing problems from a young age, some very different from each other, but all breathing problems including the one you mentioned.

If it continues to happen frequently, go to the doctor, it's always best to have things checked just in case it is something else. I can only give you my lived experience with this illness, but what you described wasn't unusual for me. Also, check all medication leaflets in case it's listed as a side effect.

My doctor told me its anxiety based, l now have it under control xx

I think i worry about it more as my mum had a heart transplant when i was a baby and weve since found out that the cardiomyopathy is genetic and various family members have died. Also because i have pots and since i stopped smoking the pots has worsened because my blood pressure has dropped. Im constantly gasping for air right now x

I have that too, doesn’t worry me as never really thought about it much until you mentioned it. Don’t think it’s anything to be worried about x
