I was taking an antidepressant at the same time as Savella. The psychiatrist that prescribe the anti-depressant warned me against taking Savella but the pain doctor and I wanted to at least try it for the fibro. I ended up with serotonin syndrome which wasn't fun I think the Savella might have worked for me had I not had the other meds but I wouldn't give up my anti-depressants because they work so well for me so I gave up the Savella instead. On gabapentin now
I've been on Savella for a couple of months now and have not had any of the side effects mentioned in the previous posts. I was on Sertraline and Lorazepam for about a year prior to starting the Savella, so not sure if that made a difference. I also know that my doctor told me each person reacts to the medication a little differently, so what works for me may not work for everyone. I had normal blood pressure and heart rate prior to starting, and at my last check-up it was still normal.
Oh my goodness! It doesn't sound like it's a very good drug at all.
