Has Anyone Ever Had Excruciating Pain In Their Back And Side Almost Like You've Pulled The Muscles Around Your Ribs?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

This just started last night and catches my breath. It hurts like hell to lay down or get up. I've never had this so I'm not sure if I've hurt myself or its just another Fibro sign. Thanks in advance for your help!

I do. It's awful and scary. My boyfriend freaked out when it happened and I was next to him. I gasped and grabbed my side, he didn't know how to help. There was nothing that either of us could do. It comes and goes for me. I don't know if it's fibro related either, but I just thought that I'd share that it's happened to me.

I have been dealing with a 'sore muscle' on my left side. It is from the middle of my back across to my ribs. Mine has been getting worse to the point I might see a doctor. It also trails down to my hip. I think mine is not fibro but is more painful because of the fibro. Heat seems to help some. If I'm not sure of a pain that lasts more than a week, I ask a professional. I can't tell the difference.

I believe it is called ch0ndritis. I went to the er years ago with severe pain in my ribs but I was not sure if it might be my heart. With fibro we don't know whether to blow pain off as fibro or if we are having a heartattack. Iguess it is better to be sure than to have a heart attack. I hope the pain is better. have a good night everyone.

Yes I get it from time to time. My GP had me checked out for gallstones, this was before I had been diagnosed with FM. I sometimes get a lump come up too around one rib. Very, very painful AND very, very annoying Grrrrrrr!
