When Nothing Works
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good evening, morning, day all...

I have been having a severe fibro flare-up that has been very hard to bring under control. I am actually going home for a week in order to just spend time to recover. it has been a crazy few weeks working 18 hour days at times and I think this has caught up with me...
I have tried physio, cortisone hectic pain killers and NOTHING has worked. What do you do in this time as such??

Regards
Rebecca

Hi guys, thanks for your reply. @A MyFibroTeam Member in taking Tramacet and synileve ( not sure how to spell it) @A MyFibroTeam Member I'm currently studying as soon as I'm done i can choose a line in the hospitality industry that will suit me. I am just so desperate for restorative rest and also just want to see my doctor who i have not seen since June. He has been such a great support. I'm flying home today for just over a week. Much needed. Yesterday was a rush though having to get things in order.

Hi Rebecca, as long as you continue to work such punishing hours, you will continue to get flares from being so exhausted. One of the best medicines for fibromyalgia is long restorative sleep. Pain killers, muscle relaxants or any other drugs won't work as long as you keep punishing your body. You are young, so you can bounce back better, but with fibromyalgia, and if you indeed have been diagnosed with that, you will need to adapt your life to that medical reality. While you are home, talk it over with your loved ones. What does adapting your life to this illness look like? How can you still achieve your dreams, yet not be in constant stress, missing much needed sleep, and taking care of your health look like? Are you ready to face these questions yet? When I was diagnosed 20 years ago, I watched my life change drastically, and I wasn't ready for it. I was in my 40's and I already had a career I loved. I lost not only that, but a lot of friends. If I had a different kind of support, if I had prepared myself to some degree, I may have been able to adapt better. All I can wish for any other soul facing these tough choices is to avoid the mental suffering of being inflexible in life. God bless you, and all the best of luck. There are many options open to you. Remember that.

Then i use mental training. The trainer I learned it, ask..... Wich is the best place for u. Mine is a island with some palms. Iam alone there in the shadow of the palms. the sun is shining. Water around the island. Often a hard time start, when hands or feet felt cold. The thinking to lay in the warm sand,, make me feeling comfortable. Also I smile, when I go in a bathroom in the mirror.... Set some Endorphine free.
I feel with u, feel huged.
Wich kind of pain killers u take?
Since Tuesday I get a opiate 2x5 mg. No shaking hands. Only little pain in the leg muscle. I feel blessed ❤️

I usually head to the hospital so they can say everything is normal. They may give you an inflammatory shot or something.
I always much happier when they do blood work to see if something is out of wack.
