It took me quite awhile to get used to it...I went back to work 2 times..a year both times..but when I went back to work..ALL symptoms would come back...so I knew it was true..I could not work full time without paying the price physically each time..so now I am out of denial..and I rest more often..and take care of myself better..so now I do not have flares all the time like I use too..its a learning process..but I am thankful.for Social Security..Disability )I have the choice to be able to rest ..rather than" having" to keep going and going and suffer the consequences..I love photography..so this helps me..I love music and friends with a good sense of humor..and I love my electric blanket to cuddle in when I am in pain...(( Hugs your way..

I retired about 12 years ago already, took early retirement. I was only working 1 day a week and traveling to work didn't pay except for the gas. Couldn't find full-time employment. And don't think for one minute there isn't age discrimination because I KNOW better, experienced it several times. In fact, someone once told me I was over qualified! So here I am among the Senior citizens, one of the invisible people because we have no voice we are not heard.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I felt the same way when I retired about 12 years ago and decided to pursue activities that involve thinking, challenging things that make you think like crocheting, creating note cards designs, adult color is challenging, therapeutic and creative! I also attend a senior center where I use their two styles of exercise bikes, paint ceramics and play WII bowling plus take my crocheting with me and a word search puzzle book. Then when not doing any of that I work on doing my family genealogy for the past 2 years and still have a lot to do. So, I am also secretary of the resident association where I live and on the board of commissioners for the city housing where I live. And am in the process of becoming a church history consultant for the family so you see there are a lot of things to do. OR volunteer at a senior center, day care for kids or adults they always need help, serving others is very gratifying and you receive many blessings as well. Hope this is helpful to all. Prayers and hugs for all, take care of yourself
