Iron Injections
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have to go tomorrow and get my first Iron injection and have to go every 2 weeks for 12 weeks and I am wondering if anyone here had had them and good or bad what kind of side affects did you have or didn't have. Thank you all Gentle hugs

I have given iron injections. They will put it in your butt cheek. I'm not going to lie, I have heard it is not comfortable.... but that was from a man and he didn't have fibromyalgia. You are a strong women.... so you will be fine ❤️

I have never had an injection, but I get iron infusions through an iv. Dont get any side affect from it, not even constipation. It helps tremendously for my rls.

I had low iron from when I was 16 till I was 30. I had been prescribed iron in multiple ways which never increased my iron much. I finally told my Dr I wanted the injections(pre fibro diagnosis), he said they weren't keen in giving them to people as they can leave a brown mark sometimes. I asked where they would do the injections and when he said upper buttocks I was like "i don't care, I want to try them anyway!" I had about 6 of them and honestly it was the best thing!!! Yes they can be painful, felt like I had a bruise and achy butt for about 4-12 hours but it was totally worth it!!! My energy levels went up hugely and I felt like a completely different person!!! Now, 3 years after having them, when I get a blood test my iron levels are still in a good range!!! I wish they had offered the injections to me when I was 16!!!
And nope, I never got any brown marks on my skin!
