Hi what do ppl take or do that helps them instead of the prescribed poison given by docs. X
I use acupuncture, massage, heat, Epsom salts baths, mineral hot springs, exercise, and now for the first time I have added CBD oil. Acupuncture is the real lifesaver. It's been nothing short of a miracle for me. I am totally drug free as of September 2016.

I'd love to try tai chi sometime if there was a class. I want to try yoga as well, as I've heard that gentle yoga can help with fibromyalgia. I had acupuncture in the past, but I don't recall it really helping; it may have been the practitioner, though. She kept on focusing on my liver which she said was sluggish and made me boil all these vile herbs (said they were Chinese) and I had to drink them several times a day. Ugh. I take turmeric now as it is a natural anti-inflammatory. I may need to take more. It's not very expensive if you buy it on-line. I've been taking a small dose and it doesn't have any side-effects. It's important to get it pure, though.
Acupuncture really helped me, but it is expensive, and the NHS only allow you so many sessions. The problem is that is comes under having physiotherapy treatment not for fbm. I had it for my back but it did relieve other tension. Once I had all my sessions though.... I had to pay privately.
I agree about the Tai Chi, it's extremely calming when done correctly so even if it doesn't help with pain it definitely helps with stress and anxiety. I just haven't been able to stick to a routine with it. Other than that, the only thing i use is soft ice packs. I know massage would help if I could be sure that the masseuse would be gentle enough, but even that pain relief ends as soon as your times up 😂 so is it really worth the money? Idk. I've found that I like my husband to press with his palms on my lower back and to squeeze my feet and hands. BUT he's never willing to do it these days 😂 I'm going to try CBD oil next, though. Actually this morning I read about a recent survey that compared the effectiveness of marijuana to the effectiveness of cymbalta, Lyrica and Savella among 1300 patients. I'll go ahead and post the results on my profile if you want to check it out 😊 it's kind of a big deal.
There are a lit of options: acupuncture, massage, Tai Chi or some other form of mild exercise such as swimming or just walking. There's biofeedback, guided imagery, and counseling from a nutritionist about diet and supplements ... and many more.
