Can Fibro Cause Deafness?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Ok so I'm now going deaf!!! Had FRI scan, blood tests etc. Apparently it's caused by nerve damage. Can fibro be the cause?

Hi
I was born deaf but it corrected itself and I had problems with tones and where noises come from.
So recently I've had an hearing test as I hadn't had one for years and now I wear hearing aids due to nerve damage.
The doctor said it's where I have damage to my nerves due to when I had deafness as a baby but he said that my fibromyalgia has made it worse and weaker .X

Thanks love your a star! My hearing was fine till about 6 months ago, & in that time it's got Rom moderate to severe in such a short time. I've also got the most horrendous tinnitus. And it's all getting worse very quickly! To be honest it's frustrating and I'm really scared xx
