Numbness In Hands
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Good morning! I have RA and Fibromyalgia. I've been experiencing a lot of numbness in my hands every day. It's so much that it woke me up before my alarm one morning. I asked my rheumy if it was the RA, and she said no, it's either the Fibromyalgia or anxiety. I was surprised! I get tingling all the time in my extremities and know that's fibro. But anxiety can cause numbness? That's new to me. I do have a lot of stress and take Ativan each day. Anyone else have numbness in their hands… read more

I've had numbness and tingling in my arms, hands, fingers, feet, & toes for years. Also if I stand very long or walk alot, I get severe burning feeling on the bottom of my feet. Also, my ribs feel "asleep" and I have really bad chest pains sometimes. My rheumatologist said it's all from the fibro after doing other tests to rule out nerve damage. She said I also have costochondritis.which is inflamation in the cartalige around my ribs and breastbone. It's awful and nothing really helps.

My anxiety has caused my entire body to go numb before. From head to toe. It also causes bladder spasms for me now. Makes me have to go to the bathroom a lot more than normal. I would ask about upping your dosage or trying another medication for your anxiety and see if it improves

@SpiritWalker-I have a question? I do not like taking medication orally. How do you feel about patches for pain? I know you are a very learned individual and you will advise me correctly. Thanks so much for your answer.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I was the same during my nerve conduction study. It showed mild carpal tunnel syndrome but my hand is getting worse.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I was experiencing numbness in my feet it was down to medication I was taking for my migraine
