Restricted In Walking Distance
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is anyone else really restricted in their cumulative walking distance in one day? If I walk more than 0.75km (sometimes less) my knees hurt so
bad until I'm able to take a warm bath. It's the thing that truly is holding me back and pushing me into depression along with school. And I can't use walking aids because my arms are also hurting...

Stretch and self massage your knees before and after walking. Also heating pads are my best friend after walking a distance. Keep walking as much as you can within your limitiation. Don't be afraid, you don't want to loose muscle tone or get stiffer. Limitations suck I know but do the best with what you can. It is frustrating, but remember you are wonderful just the way you are!

Yes, I am limited to a block a day. I hate Walmart because I always need something in one end of the store and another in the opposite end. Thank goodness my husband doesn't mind shopping. I get exercise and relief by going to an arthritis pool to do water exercises or walking. If it isn't up to 88° each day I get terribly stiff from the cold. Other fitness centers have much better set-ups, but they're too expensive and too far for me to drive there. If I let myself miss a day in the water, I stress a little.

Bonjour Ammelie 1123,
