Hair Loss
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Asked my pain specialist about hair loss with fibromyalgia. He stated that he hasn't really treated anyone with fibro that has hair loss. I could only put a hair tie around twice, now goes around four times. I'm confused!!! A lot of posts stating he same.

I have not had any hair loss, But I have a vitamin D deficiency and take a specially compounded vit D supplement, though not sure if that stops any hair loss.

I was shocked the other day when I looked in the mirror how much hair I'd actually lost. I haven't cut my hair for years, my hair is all different lengths now. I've always just tied it up, yet lots of my hair doesn't won't tie up now, good job I always wear a hat when I'm out. I'm glad it's growing back, and glad I've got no bald patches, it's just driving me mad x

I had this issue. It was starting to scare me. I don't want to be bald! I began looking for a quality Hair/Skin/Nails (HSN) supplement. I found one that seems to work best for me; The Vitamin Shoppe's HSN supplement. I take it 2xs a Day. I did not see immediate results, but after 3mo or so I could see a definate difference. I have tried other supplements, like ones sold at Costco, with no definable results. I also take a chewable multivitamin (I am so sick of swallowing pills!) and 15,000mg of Vit D daily. That's a lot of Vit D but my doctor monitors my levels to ensure I am not creating a deficiency elsewhere. This regime helps the most. Hope this helps!

I spoke to my GP about this and he said it can be because of a number of reason stress, medication, or another health condition. Yet when the appointment came though with the rheumatologist she said it was put of fibromyalgia x
