Root Nerve Block
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I have a list of complications with my spine (too many horses, too many falls) including a spondylolisthesis L5S1 which is impinging on nerves, namely the sciatic nerve. Now in a 'normal' person this shouldn't cause too much pain but having fibromyalgia, the nerve has over reacted leaving me in agony. Thankfully I have the most amazing Pain Management Consultant who understands this. After a Caudal Epidural only worked for a week and was principally used as a diagnostic tool, he is now going to… read more

My nerve block only worked for the first day, then life was miserable for about a week. My constant thinks I maybe have an allergy. But I know people that look forward to their days for the procedures. Good luck and gentle hugs!

I have had back pain since my 20's due to herniated discs from lifting heavy patients in intensive care. I had a fusion at levels L4-5, and L5S1 in 1998. Now I am 62, with several diagnoses of my spine Over past 2 years, I have had epidurals and local injections. I have received 5 nerve blocks in the last 2 months. I am scheduled for 2 more. They really help with the intense pain, but only last several weeks. I am soon to be scheduled for Radio Frequency Ablation, burning of the nerve roots in the lumbar area. I had this done on my neck and it gave me much relief. Good luck and I hope you feel better!

I have nerve blocks every week @A MyFibroTeam Member...they seem to help...not sure if this is the same thing as you mention...I have constant nerve pain but these blocks help with the symptoms. I've been getting them for 4 weeks now..probably 10-20 needles a week in my upper and lower back....I was getting relief for 3-4 days, but they are screwing with my meds now so I feel like garbage
