Have you ever disclose that you have fm only to be given the "yeah yeah I was diagnosed with that too!" My current supervisor did this to me. I was just too through. My respect for her went out the window. The insentsivtivity of it all. ( sorry not a great speller)

I worked for a Judge for long time & as my fibro was getting worse. I followed up with my doctor, who immediately put me on a 30 day medical leave. When I return to work, she was so livid that I went on the medical leave and left the office one person short. She was horrible to me when I returned and I was still suffering, but I wanted to try to go back to work, but she double loaded my workload, and did anything to torment me, which I had always been a very good employee. I was her court reporter for 10 years . And she had the power to make my work life miserable until she overloaded me so much I couldn't keep up in which she fired me. I couldn't believe her actions, but I knew I had no recourse, she was the one in power. This devastated me as I was a single mother and I worked two and three jobs for 30 years and was a good employee. My body and mind could no longer take it, thus, I then started my paperwork for disability. My disability was granted three years later, after two disability hearings etc. I would 100% rather be working. This employer was totally wrong and very insensitive, but a couple years later, karma came back around to her. Big lesson for these employers. Treat people like you would want to be treated under these circumstances .

It is so upsetting! The stigma that surrounds FM is the main reason I have suffered in silence for 16 years!
