Only thing that helped me was magnesium ! I'd get terrible shin splints and calf muscle pain.
I could not go for my walks. I'd limp very painfully home after a very short way.
My sister suggested magnesium salts ( not a salt) you get it at the health food store. These pellets dissolve under your tongue. After a time on these ,regular magnesium can be used.
Honey, it really worked well for me. I was surprised. Best of all good things to you!

I bought Powerfit which is a vibrating machine that you stand on for 10 minutes a day and that has helped my legs enormously. My calf muscles don't tighten up on me like they used too. They sometimes feel tired and ache a bit late afternoon and evening and I just take a couple of paracode to get rid of that feeling.

I do get shin pain sometimes bug never really thought it was connected. I bump myself a lot on the shins so maybe I have just ignored it as a symptom. I get really bad tendon and calf pain. Apart from magnesium Epson salts and painkillers . I use arnica cream which is ment to be good for bruses. It has also given me some relief on joints and swellings.x
