I have had horrible mid back pain for months. I know lower back pain is common with fibro but my pain is in the middle.
Yes I do have back pain all over now so so must be to do with fibro much lovexxx
:( one of the issues with Fibro is that it will settle in different places & move whenever. Very frustrating & used to make me feel like a nut, when I tried talk to medical persons. I have been seeing a chiropractictor for over 20 years, he keeps me going. Muscles are so strong they pull my back & hip out of place. There is no way I could keep going. Maybe you could find a good one, when I can afford it I get massage & acupuncture does helps also. Funny thing for me is Aleve helps with low back pain more than anything else I can take. Good luck & many hugs & heart smiles to you.
Yes, there didn't seem to be any reason for it so I put it down to fibro. Then my doctor ordered an MRI and found that I had two disc which were in bad shape in the mid-back region (the 6th and 7th T discs). I got brave and went to a deep tissue massage therapist who was understanding of both the deterioration issue and back pain. After three treatments, I really felt a change for the better. Of course massage therapy isn't covered by Canada's health care so the expense had to come out of my pocket. I couldn't continue with the treatments but should really go again soon. I also have a TENS machine which helps greatly - to the point the pain is 1/4 what it was - for now.
Oh yes... I've had often severe, agonising and debilitating lower back pain since 18 (40 this year) After 5 years of letting me languish (nice word, rhymes with anguish) with idiot diagnoses... lumbago, sciatica, a 5 year long 'muscle strain' etc... the doc decided to throw what I now know to be the catch all term of 'arthritis' at it, centred around the sacro-iliac joint to be a little more precise.
Recently, along with the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, and because I've been pushy about answers... I've been given actual names for what it is specifically (because there's several possible reasons for several kinds of 'arthritis', who knew?)
Btw those names were the fantastic sounding Spondyloarthropathy, which I first heard the day I got the Fibro diagnosis, it was on my consultation document... not sure why they'd never mentioned that to me before... and after the x-rays and bloodwork came back I got upgraded to Ankylosing Spondylitis. There's an autoimmune thing going on there I believe (so I really do 'hate myself', haha) and possibly more still... they got me scheduled for a ride in the MRI soon.
What I do know is the pain that was confined to the extreme lower back/pelvis area started working it's area of operations upwards about the time this Fibro deal kicked off. Whether it's just the 'to be expected' spread of arthritis or aggravated by Fibro, I'm not sure... but evidence and seeing the stories of the majority of folks here suggests that Fibro always comes with company (other health/pain issues)
My advice would be to try the usual fixes... painkillers, anti-inflammatories (either, in whatever form is best for you) a change of resting position or place, hot baths, massages etc... If you've tried those to no avail, it's probably more than something you did (until recently my doc never stopped asking what accident I'd had to get like this... I'd had none of course) and you need to go see your doc, put your foot down and get things done.
All the best.
I have mid back pain too. Especially when I'm at work. Sometimes so bad at work I do all I can to keep from crying! I have tried everything to get rid of it but to no avail. Only resting in my recliner with the heating pad helps. Wish I had an answer, but I don't. 😢
