@A MyFibroTeam Member I understand you 100% the Dr told me to be more active and exercise as I too have recently been gaining weight on Lyrica. I have tried walking aquatic physical therapy and have even done my own exercises at an indoor pool. I understand that we need to be more active but what my family, friends, and Dr's don't understand is that if we aren't suffering from the pain and fatigue of FM it's our arthritis that really kicks our butt the most. Stay positive wishing you pain free days and gentle hugs

Yes. Gabapentin 100% at fault for my weight gain. I ended up getting an rny to combat the weight. Because if I try to go off gabapentin my pain sky rockets. So I was in a rock and hard place. Since August 2015 I have 120 lbs, I want to get to 155 I am currently at 178, it's not an easy thing to do, so if you decide on this route don't let anyone tell you it's the easy way out the cheaters way. It's not. I have always been a healthy eater so food wasn't my issue, it has always been medications and my health issues. I would do this surgery again if I had to. It saved me.

Hey ladies I had my gallbladder removed like 8 years ago I did lose some weight but not as much as I expected I do have fibromyalgia but doctor started me over a year ago on Topamax 100 milligrams at bedtime he said I would start losing weight while about nine months after that I started losing weight I was almost at 170 now a little over a year I've managed to stay at 145 and it helps me wake up in the morning without holding onto my walls coming out of my bed I walk a lot not only because of the exercise but to keep my mind away from fibromyalgia I do it better now and healthier it's a pain that'll never go away I feel sorry for all of us which I should not say it that way but I do think about every one of us daily may God bless us all hugs and kisses for everyone do you have any questions feel free oh and I am 55 years old so I consider myself still young to go through all this thank you and have a blessed day

@A MyFibroTeam Member I am a huge calorie & fat counter, watch what I put down my throat. I do not have a gallbladder so anything fatty just goes right through me. I agree you can control your weight, and there are some exercises you can do with fibro. I just try not to snack in between, if I do it is fruit or carrots.

I had a partial hysterectomy, but the dr left in my ovaries, and I am going through the change of life now. It is so hard on me mentally, my PCP changed my depression meds about 3 weeks ago, and they also help with the hot flashes. I had Endrometreosis they removed my uterus, and I wish she would of removed my ovaries. The Dr. said I was to young, and I was in my early 30's so I could of went through the surgical menopause.

Prednisone is a steriod I usually get when my bronchitis flares up, and also my neurologist trigger points me with cortisone & marcain. It sure does give you the munchies! It will pack on the pounds, and it gave me a moon face!

I enjoyed reading your post.
