I found that reducing my dairy intake to half of what I was consuming to be helpful. I am less stiff, next to no phlegm and more alert. I increased my protein intake and found that I have more energy, less pain and stiffness. So far this is all I have tried that worked for me. Everybody is different, so journalling everything is important. This is how I figured out what has worked and what has not. I only eliminate or greatly reduce one thing in my diet at a time for at least four to six weeks to see and feel any difference. For me, low caffeine gave me tremendous headaches. I consume half as much caffeine as I used to and am okay. Patience and paying close attention to your own body will reveal what works for you. Even just one thing can make a huge impact on how you feel. Good luck and happy hunting.

I am on a 3 week elemination diet and only have 2 days left before I can start re-introducing foods back. I had to stop eating ...gluten, dairy, eggs, corn, soy, beef, pork, caffeine, coffee, tea, chocolate, pop I'm sure I forgot a few things. All that leaves to eat is chicken, fruit and vegetables. The diet is HORRIBLE and what's worse is it hasn't made me feel ANY BETTER. In fact my stomach is in worse shape than before I started it. So many people said that changing their diet has changed their life....All it did for me is make me hungry, crabby and gave me a horrible stomach ache.

Ive started reading about autoimmune diets ,may give it a try after the holidays. I think I might start by eliminating refined sugars, adjust to that, then hidden sugars, and processed foods, we'll see....

@A MyFibroTeam Member surprisingly no, maybe a few pounds. I'm hardly eating and you would think I would lose a lot....but I didn't. I'm 5'4 and weigh 125. I ran into someone the other day that did this diet, she lost 17 pounds.

I have had stomach pain, Gerd, and IBS since my Fibro symptoms start. I swear I have tried so many diets. Some made me feel better for a long while then stopped some were just awful. I got Allergy tested and started there. Personally eat low-fat, super low carbs, no dairy, no gluten, no beans, no sugar. Basically poultry, fish, some nuts and green vegtables. Its very difficult, time consuming and down right frustrating not to see better results on the scale but its working for my guts. I also take vitamins and herbs to encourage natural gut flora. Probiotics made me sick. I dont know if this helps my household has me, a diabetic, and a corn and peanut allergy so some of the things we take out may not be doing anything for me!
