My doctor recently gave me a prescription for water therapy. I'm curious how this has worked for others. Also, I live in the DFW area in Texas and I'm looking for suggestions on a good place to go that the people know and understand Fibromyalgia, Arthitis & Chronic Pain.
I joined a gym and use the pool. The water is kept at 86 degrees and feels wonderful. I don't swim, so I do water aerobics and sometimes just walk up and down the pool, it can't tell you how relaxing it is and how good your body feels. I highly recommend it.
Your local Arthritis society may have aquafit lessons designed specifically for fibro. Be warned though, when you do something physically different you will have soreness. If it is severe stop or alter the activities with the assistance of the leader. Give your body some time to adjust to exercise, you will find it most beneficial if you can regularly do range of motion exercises during the day may keep those "got ya" pains.
Yes it does. It's the best therapy for us fibros!
I do what @A MyFibroTeam Member does, I do my hydro excercise for 15 mins and then 30 minutes in the Jacuzzi which gives my muscles a really good workout.☺️
Warm water exercises do wonders
