Hi I finally got an appointment to see a rheumatologist in Billings, MT on December 7... my primary doc back in MN is sure I have it but wants me to get confirmed.... I've put it off for 5 months because it's so scary to me to see new doctors. Plus I've moved from MN to MT. Can anyone tell me what all a rheumatologist does to diagnose? Blood tests? Tender points?
Thanks everyone ❤️
They want to exclude other illnesses with similar symptoms like lupus and r.a. Blood draw is common. Physical exam of joints , range of motion, strength tests. Lots of questions. Get plenty of rest before and take your pain meds.
My rheumatologist checked tenderloins, movement or lack of, my arms and legs. Then we talked for a long time.
I didn't think it made it any better sorry xxt that's what I meant to say x
Hi I went to rheumatologist he checked my pressure points and sent me for PT which I couldn't do because of a flare up but when my flare up was over I could do a couple but I didn't think they made it very easy .I hope it will be as easy for you. XX big hugs
@diagnosing fibromyalgia this is the issue with this disease. you basically have to prove you don't have another issue like lupus, or a busted back, or dementia . etc. then my friend they can finally diagnose fibromyalgia instead of anything else they consider suspicious. hope u don't live in NC it's a disaster good luck
