Sorry, I'm dramatic. So I'm 19. I'm a model and makeup artist. I also just started an Etsy embroidery shop
But modeling and MUA jobs don't come all that often and MUA's do a lot more than you'd think. Like it's reeeeally exhausting.
So I actually haven't done any makeup jobs yet (also because of anxiety) Just a few modeling ones which I handle a bit better considering I don't have to do much.
I'm wondering how I'm gonna like, do life
Everything takes so much energy out of me. Getting out… read more
While I was working last year I pretty much zombied my way through my days before I got really bad. Pain killers, sleeping tablets, energy drinks, energy tablets, coffee, trying to last the day without a nap in an attempt for a good nights sleep. All that mixed with a very stressful event at work pushed me to a breakdown.
I recommend you take it easy, do what you can when you can, don't over exert unless you know you have a few days to rest afterwards. And most importantly learn to say no when you need to :)
Maybe what people mean when they say 'push through' it, is that they,we,us, had no other option but to keep going because how, where, could we live, eat, pay bills etc without working at that time in our lives? You are young & you probably are a lot stronger than you can imagine or give yourself credit for. I think modeling is very hard and exhausting on top of having fibro! Be kind to yourself little one- we are here for you 💕
I had FM as a child. I find to have energy on the days you need it you have to rest on the days you off. I try to get at least two days of bedrest a week.
@A MyFibroTeam Member aw, thank you so much!
Yeah, I know what you mean. It always came across more as "we all gotta do it" (and it definitely was from some people)
I mean it's not easy but I prefer it over labor intensive things of course
Thank you!! It means a lot

@A MyFibroTeam Member so I totally get pushing through because if I don't get my arse out of bed my daughter doesn't get to school and my son does t get to nursery the housework doesn't get done and my OCD goes out of control😱
But there ARE days you simply can't do it, no amount of trying to push or force or my kids pulling me up can help me and I have no choice but to call for help.
When I was first diagnosed I was working in London UK full time as a lettings manager and I loved my job, I was taking painkillers like candy to keep going and energy drinks ... Oh those wonderful cans of red bull or something else ....I was determined not to loose a job I'd worked so hard for.
But when I'd had my daughter and I went back to work I was pregnant again and this time no amount of drugs and drinks were going to cut it.
I became a stay at home mum .... Now though I find an energy drink next the bed each morning gives me the extra boost I need to move and get up.
I wear lydocaine patches if I'm going to be doing a lot of upright stuff and a medical belt that supports my lower back and holds everything where it's most comfortable.
I totally understand that you will need your hands free and such so maybe an energy drink, some slow release carbohydrates for breakfast and a belt to keep you up? Xxx
