Are there any "aids" that you can't live without since diagnosis, ex: shower seat, heating blanket...?
I have a shower seat, I now use a cane for stability, one of my meds causes weakness and instability in walking and standing. I could never use anything heated, damn I hot natured I would rather it be cold outside, the heat and the humidity are my triggers for pain, like today the humidity is 85% and I woke up and could hardly move. I have 2 cats they are therapy they both know when I don't feel well and they lay on the bed with me. One of cats (the grey one) woke me up yesterday morning sitting on my back trying to wake me up to give him his treats......lol....oh yeah it hurt like hell. I also use my daughter pretty much daily to do my shopping, I do go sometimes but its much easier if she does it. Oh dear I just rambled on, sorry
My daughter can't live without a blanket. Just to keep her body warm is helpful. She said that she absolutely cannot live without a way to keep herself distracted from the pain, like video games, cell phone, music, etc.
I have a cane to help with mobility from time to time
I use a shower bench now and love it!
I too agree with Angela! What i use depends on the day and pain however. Epsom baths are temporary, as are the rest, but a wee bit of less pain is better than all day/night! My recliner has a nice and easy rock that I can keep "moving" with little effort. cold makes it worse, most of the time.. for some reason. find what works, and keep on keeping on! ;o)
