For The Ladies
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does any of the ladies has a problem with their ovaries? It feels like my ovaries are swollen, hot and painful and breast and nipples are so painful too. Is this part of fibro?

We believe I've had fibromyalgia for most of my life. Since my first period I've struggled with ovulation pain, period pain and Breast pain with benign lumps - all put down to my fibro. I've had ultrasounds mris and I had a laparoscopy to check for abnormalities and endometriosis - they found nothing and put my stabbing and shooting pains down to my nerves and fibromyalgia. I've been told to just manage the pain or use a pill to stop periods or reduce their intensity.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I've had "Lumpy Breasts" since my 20s . My then doctor said it was quite common for Fibro. I guess he was ahead of his time. He has since moved away and on to be an advocate for Native Health. But ,that is a whole other very long story.
To get back on subject, yes it is common , more than the ladies would think.
I recommend you ladies to know your breasts . You will know what lumps are the Fibro lumpy lumps and what is different.

A few months ago I thought I felt a lump in my breast so went to my doctor who refereed me to the local breast screening place. After I had an ultrasound and a manual examination, I was told that they couldn't find anything via scan but could feel a lump the same place I could. I asked if it could be something to do with Fibro and the consultant said that it could quite well be. I thought that my breasts were safe from Fibro. How wrong was I?.

Well, isn't that the question. Opens up a whole new arena of questions for us girls. My nipples started getting painful a few years ago (like I was pregnant!) and it turned out to be peri-menopause. (Shhhhh, don't tell the nonbelieving doctors out there) I went on the pill and they settled down. I hope you can find a good OBGYN to really investigate this. They're obviously missing something.

Aniprox helped me a great deal, but I suspect it is bad for you as I'd guess it's like Naproxin.
I sympathise as I know how painful this can be.
