What are some ways you relax and handle all the different stresses with having Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue? Some days nothing seems to work?
Thank you all for your answers learning to find ways to relax and handle stress. I was amazed that so many of them I either knew but forgot or ones I never thought of like teas sitting in my pantry and some brand new ideas. My IDEA was to get a jar label it: my fibro help jar, rx take one when needed. Then on small PCs of paper write each coping idea out.Place them all in the jar.Open when needed, all your ways to fight pain to relax and handle stress will be in your jar.Even write one saying did you take your medicine to help with pain? Just in case you forgot. Thanks again. Lots of Hugs
I use heating pads, warm baths, snuggly blankets, a warm cup of tea. Soft music. Snuggling with my little doggies. When stress goes up I back off....go to my room if possible...pray and give it all to God.
Meditation helps me very much. Also, a long hot epsom salt bath and listening to new age music. If I can into a good book it also helps me and getting a massage also helps. Also, laughing with my friends. A good laugh always makes me feel better!
Prayer helps me as well. I love to light a fire and cozy up next to it. Sometimes it helps just to vent to my husband. Everyone has to find what brings them peace. Healing prayers & gentle hugs go out to you.
I've found reading a book that is super engrossing can keep you awake but always have a calming effect. I know this sounds weird but gliding a hand across a super soft blanket or fabric can relieve stress, I'm literally trying so many things to relieve stress I've found some weird ones. I've tried finger painting, I know that's for kids but if you want to be creative but can't hold the brush for long you always have fingers. Listen to music that makes you want to dance, you don't actually have to dance to it but it will brighten your mood and give you a boost of energy. If you have someone to hang out with you can try card games, they are fun, easy and the thrill of competition might actually help with pain relief.
