Excessive Pain From Minor Injuries
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I get an insane amount of pain from things that used to cause me minor discomfort. Seems like my reaction to minor injury is linked to my fibro. Anyone else get excessive, overwhelming pain from small cuts or hitting your hand/finger or toes?

Yea, you can't battle through it. People don't understand our pain or sleep problems. You are not a wimp, not a wimp. You're pain centers are on high alert and your pain receptors recruit other nerves (light touch, pressure, temperature,cool/hot.) Once recruited there are more receptors sending pain messages to yorur brain. You could shake someones hand, unless they are trying to crush you) firm, but not wimpy. If you hand receptors are super sensitive your brain will register pain. Hope that helps.

Yes, I do frequently. I hit my hand and it hurt so bad and caused some other pain that I shouldn't of had. It does intensify the little everyday things we do that wouldn't of bothered us. I hope this helps you.
