Who Migrates For The Winter?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm curious, who flocks to warmer weather during the winter and how and when do you decide to go? This winter has been another brutal one for me and I don't know if I can do it again next year so I'm thinking of taking a vacation somewhere warm, does anyone else do this? And for those of you who do, do you go at the beginning of winter or wait until you start to feel a flare coming? Do you stay away for the whole winter? What works best?

@A MyFibroTeam Member I don't think you're odd lol I can't handle the hot weather either but winter seems to be much worse these days :/ Thank goodness for heating and air conditioners though :)

We have homes in Washington state and Arizona. The sun helps my spirit and I can be outside all winter riding my bike and exercising. Other than that the pain and other symptoms are the same.

Could be if I stayed home in teh 7 months of cold, dark and wet I would go down hill

Hi Lisa I use to find relief in winter but this year I certainly suffered, I normally struggle in the hot weather so it will be interesting this summer if I suffer or whether now I finally suffer when it's cold only

Hi Lisa Yes I agree that being in a warmer climate helps quite a lot. You would have to be in one of the coldest areas in OZ. If you can afford to move intrastate I would do it. Northern NSW, Queensland, NT, parts of WA. However we also need family, so if you do move, try to find somewhere where you have family. All the best. Oh by the way in Australia the last couple of years there has been cold weather in places that normally don't for example we had 2 nights recently with 3degrees! But generally the Central Coast NSW is mild and there really is no need for warm holidays although I do go to my son annually in Yamba NSW. Its lovely there and I get very spoiled.
