Sleeping

I have no idea what this is anymore

My sleep has been really bad for 18 months, it's 2 weeks before I see my GP again.

For the past 10 days I've managed to get an hour nap each night, I don't and can't sleep during the day

Any tips or advice welcome, as not sleeping isn't helping my migraine to calm down, thanks

Have you tried melatonin? It's a natural element, take it with 5000 iu Vitamin D just before bed and make your room dark.

Here are some of the things I have used over the years that have worked:

Watch your sugar and caffeine intake in the early evening. It doesn't take much to keep some people awake all night.

Try a warm shower or hot bath.
Do deep relaxation breathing exercises before bed.

Meditation or gentle yoga.
Gentle stretching.
Reading or listening to a book on tape. Listening to soothing music, nature or white noise.

A sleep mask helps if you have any light distrations.

Lavendar sprayed on the pillow or rubbed on your temples can help.

Make your bedroom a safe haven, with soft comfortable bedding, uncluttered, calming and relaxing colors.

But most of all I have found over the years though that if you have something bothering you, until you fix it you will not sleep well. Unfortunately most of us women do not have an off switch for our mind!💖

This is my biggest problem! I take Zopiclone sometimes but the GP is reluctant to give me more than 14 tablets about 3 times a year. I found a juice drink with cherry & camomile which helps a bit. I find getting overtired means I cant sleep. Sometimes I just ache or the bed feels uncomfy, the sheets are crumpled, too hot, too cold, it goes on & on. Lack of sleep is vastly underestimated!

I've taken Trazadone for sleep since 1984. It started out to be a med for depression. Everyone that took it fell asleep so now it is used for that.
It's old and very inexpensive .

My doc gave me Amitripyline. It has helped me. I go see her again next month. I am hoping she will up the dose a bit. I also take Flexeril to quiet my legs and hands
