Pain and inactivity
The pain in fibromyalgia can be so severe that even the slightest movement can cause throbbing pain. Moreover, the tenderness and stiffness in your muscles makes it painful to move around. With all the pain involved during movement, exercise is totally unimaginable with fibromyalgia. The lack of activity and exercise is one reason why you are gaining weight because your body is not expending the energy from food intake hence causing weight gain.

I've managed to lose weight but it was difficult. I tend to eat because I'm bored. And because I'm limited to what I can do i get bored. Some people find it hard to lose weight because of the meds they are on. I always feel better for eating healthily but it's not easy to always do that. But i have a goal to lose weight before Christmas . Sending you all very gentle hugs x

Hi DianneHahn and thank you for the great information. I know these things from struggling with my weight for twenty plus years of dealing with Fibro and Hypothyroidism but it's comforting to know that others that we share this frustrating illness with are going through the same struggles. It becomes even harder as we get older to loose the extra weight and keep it off. My attitude has changed to acceptance that my body will never look like it did 20 years ago but I can still look good and feel good about myself when I eat healthy, be as active as I can be on my better days and dress becomingly every day. I won't let myself wallow in self pity and be depressed about something I can't change any more. I am 73 now not 23 or 43 or even 63 and am in pain all the time but I won't let this illness define me. I feel better physically and feel better about myself when I get up, get dressed, put on my make-up and do my hair as if I was still going out in the working world. I am now more comfortable in leggings than jeans and the longer tops that cover my larger tummy and bum but I can still look attractive.... I'm just 30 pounds heavier than I used to be. I'm grateful for the blessings in my life and very happy to be back in the Seattle area with my daughter, some of my grandchildren and I look forward to seeing more of my son and his family more often too. They are now just 6 hours away instead of 1500 miles. I have Fibro, CFS as well a some of the other complications that go along with it but that's not who I am. I am a wife, mother, grandmother of 17 and now a great grandmother of the most precious 5 month old baby boy. I am blessed. Thank you Lord!!.
May your days be blessed with manageable pain, my Fibro friends and may you look at your days as positive as is possible for you. Warm gentle hugs to you all.

I have lost 27 lbs since February. That is the first weight I've lost in YEARS. It took a major event for it to happen. I had all my teeth pulled and then got dentures several months later. Dentures are not easy to get used to and it takes quite a while to learn to eat with them. Thus, the weight loss. I only hope I don't gain the weight back. I have definitely reduced my portion sizes. I have also found out since January that I am diabetic and am trying to cut back on carbs and sweets. Sweets have always been one of my down falls. I cut way back on sodas and that has helped tremendously with the weight.

I hope you all find your path to the weight loss trail.

It feels impossible, but I guarantee you if you are truly motivated it is possible! I recently lost 20 pounds for my sons wedding, but it didn't matter due to a poor choice in what I wore! I looked like a cream puff! My belly was bloated and bc I was wearing a fitted sparkley top (which continually shed its glitter on everyone,) all that showed was my tummy!πŸ˜– So needless to say, I was pissed and managed to gain it all back out of anger! Now I continue to make poor snack choices, and stay pretty definately, so.... Hello 20 lbs!!! Frustrated! I will post a picture on the activity page! But... Don't give up!!! If you want it, you can achieve it!!!!!! HugsπŸ™…πŸ™…πŸ™…
