Sciatica
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Have been having terrible pain in my groin and down my leg. I thought it was just the fibro. Hubby says it's sciatica. It's not constant though but it has been getting more frequent. It started when I tried line dancing. Has anyone else had anything similar?

I always thought that Sciatica went down the buttock and the back of the leg.

I had it for long time. I went to pain management specialist. We did nerve blocks before we decided to go in & burn the nerves. I have not had pain since! I also had migraines. I usually get them from allergies like trees & pollen. I did have a fusion done about 5 years ago on 3,4,&5 of my neck. I had disk problems. The migraines are far & few in between. Lots of hugs luv

@A MyFibroTeam Member, Yes, I get Botox shots in my butt. I do excersize and stretching but it really doesn't go away. The shots are 3 months apart and by the 2nd shot I was improving, the 3rd was better. I have Medicare and Medicaid for insurance, in NY. I get my shots from my Rheumatologist. Hope you get better with yours,. Warm, gentle hugs.

@A MyFibroTeam Member. I have suffered with this for years with no help. I have been told it's NOT sciatica, I was shown a drawing of the human body's natural lines of nerve pathways. It shows sciatica down the outside of the leg, but the line through the groin goes with the periformis muscle in the buttocks. It can be strengthened and lengthened through P/T and also you can get shots for pain there. I get Botox injections every 3 months for it, it got so painful That I couldn't even sit, and how can you ice there?? The Botox is expensive and copay is high, luckily I got mine covered after a long fight for it.

Good luck and many Warm gentle hugs
